Malachys Diary page 7

We returned back home to Ireland in 2002 after a lot of sole searching at first as to how Mal would cope with the change. We need not have worried as Mal enjoys coming back and forth. We believe Mal has the right to his independence and he knows we will always be there for him. I phone up twice a week to see how he is and the staff phone me if he is ever unwell. We have a very good relationship with them. Mal also spends weekends with his sister Ann and her family and he travels home several times in a year.

As a family Mal has given us something very special that has helped us thorough many hard days in the early years, He is a very loving man and we love him dearly and are very proud of all that he has achieved.

I suppose what I am trying to say is there is always light at the end of the tunnel, event if it may not seem so at the time.

So never give up.

Josie Connolly.
